Cash Accountant

About the role

Parts Town is seeking a Cash Accountant – internally nicknamed the “Month End Maniac” – to own cash‑reconciliation activities and support broader staff‑accounting functions. This full‑time position works closely with Cash Application and Accounts Payable teams to ensure accurate cash balances and a smooth month‑end close.

Key responsibilities

• Perform periodic cash reconciliations for all cash accounts, including credit‑card, PayPal, and foreign‑currency accounts.
• Calculate month‑end accruals for cash‑in‑transit and foreign‑currency revaluation entries.
• Post cash‑sweep and direct‑debit transactions and reconcile related general‑ledger accounts.
• Update and reconcile balance‑sheet items across SAP, Excel, and bank statements.
• Support month‑end close activities and act as backup for other accounting duties, including periodic customer rebates.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or 2‑5 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Demonstrated ability to handle high‑volume reconciliation tasks with accuracy.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to resolve reconciling items promptly.
• Effective communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.

Required skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP and PivotTable functions.
• Experience with SAP or a comparable ERP system.
• Solid understanding of cash‑reconciliation and month‑end close processes.
