About the role
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) in New York is seeking a dedicated Caseworker to join its Assistance for Migrants Program (AMP). This program delivers comprehensive, culturally‑responsive services to asylum seekers and newly arrived migrants throughout the New York City area.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct intake assessments, screening, and referrals for AMP clients.
- Provide holistic case management, developing individualized service plans that address legal, financial, and employment needs.
- Coordinate with internal teams, external service providers, and government agencies to ensure timely delivery of support.
- Maintain accurate case records and documentation in compliance with program guidelines and union agreements.
- Advise clients on available resources and assist them in navigating the U.S. immigration system.
Required profile
- Experience working with asylum seekers, refugees, or other recently arrived migrants.
- Familiarity with U.S. immigration processes and related service networks.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, with a commitment to cultural sensitivity.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Fluency in English; additional language skills are a plus.
