Care Technician – Medical Oncology

About the role

The Care Technician provides direct patient care within the Medical Oncology department, serving as the first point of contact for patients and supporting the clinical team. This role ensures accurate documentation, smooth patient flow, and a safe environment.

Key responsibilities

• Collect patient information, record vital signs, and document input/output in the EMR.
• Coordinate daily patient flow, prepare exam and procedure rooms, and manage scheduling.
• Receive and implement provider instructions and orders accurately.
• Perform office procedures such as patient admission, discharge, and scheduling.
• Maintain diagnostic and medication logs per policy.
• Support infection control and maintain a clean, safe patient care environment.
• Document patient care services in departmental records and adhere to HIPAA regulations.

Required profile

• One year of care technician experience preferred.
• Valid Colorado certification: EMT, CNA, CMA, RMA, or NCMA.
• Ability to work with diverse patient populations and demonstrate cultural competency.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
• Accurate measurement and documentation of vital signs.
• Knowledge of infection control protocols and HIPAA compliance.
