About the role
The Capital Markets Trading Associate supports the Markets Group by monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on global financial market developments. This role contributes to monetary policy and financial‑stability decisions through timely insight and rigorous analysis.
Key responsibilities
- Track intra‑day and longer‑term global asset price movements.
- Interface with market participants to obtain context for price movements.
- Integrate analysis, outreach, and global developments to identify themes relevant to policy.
- Prepare detailed written analyses and deliver verbal briefings to policymakers.
- Assume specialist responsibilities across specific market segments as experience grows.
Required profile
- Strong knowledge of financial instruments, market structure, macroeconomic theory, and monetary policy.
- Proven quantitative and advanced analytical abilities.
- Experience working in high‑performance teams and as an independent analyst.
- Advanced coursework in economics, finance, public policy, or related fields.
- Ability to conduct early‑morning analytical coverage and meet disclosure requirements.
- Demonstrated desire for continuous learning.
- Open to work in New York City or Chicago (Chicago preferred).

What we offer
- Salary range $110,000 – $140,000 per year, based on experience and background.
