Cadaver Lab Assistant (Fixed-Term)

About the role

The Cadaver Lab Assistant supports the Rathbone Human Anatomy and Cadaver Lab at LSU’s College of Human Sciences and Education. This fixed‑term position involves hands‑on work preparing cadaver specimens for instructional use and maintaining a safe laboratory environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and upkeep of cadaver tissues for teaching sessions.
• Perform additional dissection tasks as directed by senior staff.
• Participate in scheduled cleaning, sanitization, and overall lab maintenance.
• Handle and dispose of bio‑hazardous waste in compliance with lab regulations.
• Carry out other duties assigned by the lab supervisor.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
• Valid U.S. work authorization at the time of hire.
• Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.
