CAD Technician

About the role

The Client's Final Assembly Production Engineering Department seeks a passionate CAD Technician to support digital manufacturing initiatives for new model introductions. Reporting to the Assembly Engineering Manager, you will work closely with internal and external Toyota groups to enhance assembly design through advanced digital tools.

Key responsibilities

• Provide project‑planning support for upcoming model changes (≈20% of time).
• Perform simultaneous engineering tasks, managing vehicle data and assembly studies (≈40%).
• Conduct 3D studies, simulations, FEA, layout updates, and 3D assembly management (≈40%).
• Collaborate with NAMCs, TMC, TTC, PE support shops, and Plano divisions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology, Computer Integrated Technology, or a CAD‑related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally and maintain an acceptable driving record.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Catia, SolidWorks and Inventor.
• Knowledge of GD&T and drafting techniques.
• Experience with 3D printing and 3D scanning technologies.
• Familiarity with FEA, Navisworks, Terrace and digital environment creation.
• Competence in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
