CAD Technician II – Technical Support & Survey Analyst

About the role

The CAD Technician II provides technical support for land acquisition projects, using AutoCAD and GIS tools to create accurate maps, sketches, and legal descriptions. The role blends computer‑aided design, data analysis, and field surveying to secure easements and rights for company facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and input field data into electronic job folders.
• Interpret deeds, maps, and field notes to locate boundaries and company facilities.
• Analyze electronic data, perform mathematical adjustments, and determine easement locations.
• Prepare maps, sketches, plats, and metes‑and‑bounds descriptions for internal and external stakeholders.
• Create and maintain easement and property‑rights layers in GIS and ArcMap.
• Support route and site delineation for fee and easement acquisitions.
• Perform field measurements as part of a survey crew when required.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2‑4 years of experience with CAD, GIS, or land‑surveying tasks.
• Valid Texas Department of Transportation driver’s license and safe driving record.

Required skills

• AutoCAD (CADD) and coordinate geometry software.
• ArcMap GIS software.
• Trimble Business Center for processing field data.
• Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• Basic knowledge of surveying techniques and real‑estate boundary law.
