CAD - BIM Layout Specialist

About the role

Meijer is looking for a CAD-BIM Layout Specialist who acts as liaison between architectural/engineering design firms and field contractors. The specialist turns initial conceptual designs into working layout documents, preparing technical layouts, equipment lists and specifications that become source documents for construction drawings or contractor implementation.

Key responsibilities

• Own the production of layout drawings, equipment lists, prototype layouts and design outputs, ensuring accuracy and adherence to Meijer CAD/BIM standards.
• Identify, document and communicate design conflicts to Layout Designers so they can refine solutions.
• Maintain and apply CAD/BIM standards, templates and file organization across projects.
• Prepare layout drawings and equipment lists to support design development.
• Coordinate with procurement, the fixture librarian and A/E partners to integrate fixtures, equipment and design requirements accurately.
• Conduct technical reviews of drawings from internal and external partners.
• Work to a schedule-driven workload and meet deadlines.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent design and drafting experience.
• 2-5 years of experience in CAD/BIM, including Revit.
• Good analytical skills and ability to work in a schedule-driven environment.
• Understanding of applicable building codes.

Required skills

• Proficient CAD/BIM drafting and modeling skills.
• Working knowledge of CAD file structures, standards, cell/family placement and project modeling.
