Cabin Design Engineer – Contract (Mobile, AL)

About the role

Airbus is seeking a Cabin Design Engineer on a contract basis to support the development and customization of aircraft cabin and cargo interiors for airline customers at its Mobile, AL manufacturing facility. You will work from concept through to final installation, providing technical expertise and support throughout the product lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Autonomously develop design solutions for cabin interior components, including detail part design and layout maturation.
• Conduct trade‑study analysis, certification activities, and in‑service support.
• Create and modify technical documents using Airbus computer‑based applications.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional Airbus departments to deliver optimal solutions.
• Prepare technical presentations and documentation with limited direction.
• Identify and support local improvement initiatives to increase team efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Aerospace, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical); Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum six years of experience in aircraft cabin design or related engineering fields.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and communicate technical information effectively.
