Buyer – Supply Chain (Houston)

About the role

JDR is seeking a Buyer to join its Supply Chain team in Houston. The role involves communicating part specifications to approved vendors, obtaining competitive bids, issuing purchase orders, and ensuring timely delivery to support cost reduction, quality improvement, and on‑time delivery goals.

Key responsibilities

• Source and procure goods and technical services for manufacturing and service orders based on specifications or requisitions.
• Negotiate price and delivery terms, maintaining accurate records of all negotiations.
• Collaborate with operations to track and control project costs.
• Verify inventory availability before processing requisitions and manage inventory transfers as needed.
• Maintain inventory programs for stocked items, monitor minimum levels, and place resupply orders.
• Liaise with Accounting to reconcile invoices and purchase orders.
• Maintain vendor relationships essential to JDR’s business.
• Support the Tendering team by providing quotes for parts and services.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems.
• Previous experience as a Buyer (preferred).
• Technical experience in subsea oil & gas applications (preferred).
• Strong time‑management, communication, and problem‑solving abilities with multitasking capability.
