Buyer – Procurement Specialist

About the role

The Buyer will manage the purchase of direct materials for a medical device manufacturer, ensuring cost control, inventory balance, and on‑time delivery. This role works closely with suppliers and internal teams to keep production flowing smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, source, negotiate, and receive goods while monitoring inventory levels against targets.
• Identify supply gaps and collaborate with suppliers to resolve short‑ and long‑term issues.
• Develop supplier partnerships through site visits, performance meetings, and regular communication.
• Track and expedite deliveries, adjust purchase orders in the QAD ERP system, and validate MRP signals.
• Evaluate monthly supplier performance and provide data‑driven feedback.
• Research, select, approve, and manage suppliers, creating alternatives for critical items.
• Generate purchase orders, apply supply‑chain best practices, and support contract reviews.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably medical‑device or regulated industry.
• Familiarity with QAD or similar ERP systems and MRP processes.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience using QAD ERP system.
• Knowledge of MRP planning and execution.
