Buyer – Procurement Specialist

About the role

The Buyer will support Bering Straits Professional Services in managing micro and macro commodity procurement for U.S. Government contracts. This onsite position in Oahu, HI, ensures compliance with FAR, the Buy American Act, and internal policies while delivering timely purchases.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the point of contact for all commodity procurement activities.
• Review procurement actions for compliance with FAR and other regulations.
• Communicate with vendors throughout solicitation processes.
• Issue Blanket Purchase Agreements (BPAs) and Purchase Orders (POs), including urgent and emergency orders.
• Maintain accurate vendor lists and CAP reports.
• Participate in procurement meetings and provide progress updates.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of experience in a similar procurement role.
• Experience using procurement software on government contracts.
• Familiarity with FAR regulations and the Buy American Act.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and ability to manage multiple tasks.
