About the role

As a Buyer at OTTO Engineering you will manage the purchasing of materials, equipment, supplies and selected commodity components, supporting engineering projects and ensuring timely deliveries for mission‑critical precision control solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain quotations, prepare and place purchase orders for groups of commodities, material, supplies and equipment.
• Conduct supplier audits, provide feedback and manage the supplier base.
• Identify economical sources of supply and locate new suppliers as needed.
• Support engineering in developing new products and new suppliers.
• Expedite deliveries to meet production schedules and control inventory levels for assigned commodities.
• Maintain purchase costs relative to standards and recommend purchasing policies.
• Participate in Material Review Board activities, including processing Discrepant Material Reports.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of related purchasing experience and a bachelor’s degree (or Supply Chain Management degree without experience).
• Availability for non‑standard or extended work schedules.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Exceptional organizational abilities and self‑motivation.
• General knowledge of ISO 9000.

Required skills

• Proficiency with personal computers.
• Knowledge of ISO 9000 standards.

• Target base salary range: $60,000 – $70,000 per year, based on qualifications and experience.
