Buyer III – Procurement Specialist

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Buyer III to manage the procurement of materials, supplies, machinery, and services for its state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing facilities. You will work closely with manufacturing and engineering teams to ensure inventory levels meet production plans while driving cost‑effective sourcing strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Lead purchasing activities with manufacturing and engineering to maintain planned inventory levels.
• Resolve material‑related accounting and receiving issues.
• Develop and implement business‑simplification methods for the procurement function.
• Participate in the creation and maintenance of ISO documentation for purchasing.
• Manage purchasing projects, monitoring cost, schedule, and scope.
• Oversee workload distribution among Buyers and train lower‑level personnel.

Required profile

• Demonstrated conceptual and practical expertise in procurement with basic knowledge of related disciplines.
• Understanding of best practices and how procurement integrates with other business areas.
• Ability to act as a resource for less‑experienced colleagues and lead small, low‑risk projects.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, capable of analyzing multiple information sources.
• Effective communication skills to explain complex or sensitive information and build consensus.
