Buyer III (B3)

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Buyer III to manage the procurement of materials, supplies, machinery and services for its state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing facilities in Austin. The role ensures continuous supply to support fast, high‑quality production while collaborating with engineering, manufacturing and supplier teams.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure supply continuity and meet MRP demand by executing pull‑ins and push‑outs with suppliers.
• Lead cross‑functional teams to resolve supply issues with engineering, manufacturing, program managers and supplier account managers.
• Drive purchasing activities to obtain the lowest total cost while maintaining quality, reliability and urgency.
• Lead inventory and excess‑and‑obsolescence reduction initiatives.
• Manage assigned purchasing projects, controlling cost, schedule and scope.
• Handle complex, sensitive information with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 4–7 years of purchasing or supply‑chain experience.
• Demonstrated leadership ability to run small projects and build consensus.
• Strong knowledge of industry best practices and market competition.
