Buyer I – Purchasing Assistant (Temporary until Dec 2026)

About the role

The Buyer I supports AbbVie’s source‑to‑contract procurement processes, ensuring alignment with business goals, compliance policies, and sustainability objectives. This temporary position runs until December 2026 and contributes to supplier diversity and operational resilience.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with source‑to‑contract activities in line with category strategy and business objectives.
• Maintain compliance with procurement policies, focusing on supplier diversity and sustainability.
• Drive supplier management tasks, including lower‑risk negotiations and workshops.
• Support risk mitigation plans and provide tactical input on supplier performance.
• Execute contract execution activities and identify process inefficiencies.
• Lead continuous‑improvement projects initiated by the procurement team.
• Develop procurement expertise through an individual learning path.
• Contribute to team goals and ensure performance targets are met.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, or at least 3 years of procurement or supply‑chain experience.
• Previous experience with source‑to‑contract, requisition‑to‑pay, and negotiation processes (preferred).
• Proficiency in English at B2 level or higher.
