Buyer I – New College Graduate (Austin, TX)

About the role

As a Buyer I, you will support Applied Materials’ manufacturing facilities by purchasing materials, supplies, machinery, and services needed to keep production running smoothly. This entry‑level position is ideal for recent graduates eager to develop procurement expertise in a high‑tech environment.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure supply continuity to enable manufacturing with speed and quality.
• Follow up on orders, verify delivery, approve payment, and maintain records.
• Drive timely delivery of parts from suppliers, resolving shipment, receiving, and billing issues.
• Collaborate with suppliers on demand‑supply planning and execute pull‑ins/push‑outs to meet MRP demand.
• Negotiate purchase orders and RFQs to achieve lowest cost while maintaining quality and reliability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Up to 1 year of related experience with basic understanding of material cost management, shortage management, supplier capability, and purchase order processes.
