Business Unit Controller

About the role

The Business Unit Controller will take full financial ownership of the Marketplace business, driving performance from revenue through to EBITDA. Working closely with business unit leaders and Group Accounting, you will translate financial data into actionable insights and support the shift from reporting‑focused controlling to forward‑looking planning.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end‑to‑end P&L for the Marketplace unit, covering gross revenue, cost of sales, net margin, personnel and SG&A.
• Validate operational drivers, safeguard cost‑center integrity and manage intercompany recharges.
• Support month‑end close: prepare accruals, prepayments, manual adjustments and reconcile ledger data.
• Produce variance analysis with clear root‑cause commentary and present results to business unit leads and Group leadership.
• Drive budgeting, rolling forecasts and driver‑based financial models; track forecast accuracy.
• Provide ad‑hoc modelling, scenario analysis and profitability deep‑dives.

Required profile

• 4‑6 years of experience in controlling or audit, preferably in a multi‑entity environment.
• Demonstrated P&L ownership and strong financial modelling capabilities.
• Comfort working with large ledger data sets and reconciling across multiple systems.
• Ability to present findings and constructively challenge senior non‑finance stakeholders.
• Structured, accuracy‑focused work style with ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Fluent business English.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel financial modelling.
• Hands‑on experience with LucaNet.
• Hands‑on experience with NetSuite.
• Working knowledge of IFRS.
