Business Tax Manager

About the role

Withum’s Tax Services Group is seeking a Business Tax Manager to join its Tech Tax practice across several U.S. locations. The role combines technical tax expertise with leadership, mentoring, and client relationship management to deliver high‑quality tax services.

Key responsibilities

• Review partnership and corporate tax returns prepared by staff for accuracy.
• Research and draft memoranda on complex tax matters.
• Identify and implement tax planning opportunities for diverse clients.
• Handle and resolve tax controversies.
• Oversee comprehensive tax research projects across multiple industries.
• Drive business development by identifying new client opportunities and supporting proposal development.
• Leverage emerging technologies, including AI‑driven tools, to improve tax processes.
• Manage multiple engagements concurrently, ensuring timely delivery.
• Conduct performance discussions with team members and participate in professional development programs.

Required profile

• Strong background in corporate, partnership, and state/local tax compliance.
• Experience supervising and mentoring tax staff.
• Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships.
• Demonstrated business development and client acquisition skills.
• Comfort with using technology to enhance tax services.
