Business Office Assistant

About the role

We are seeking a Business Office Assistant to support the daily administrative and financial operations of our skilled‑nursing facility in Ontario, California. The role works closely with the Administrator and Business Office Manager to ensure accurate billing, record‑keeping, and excellent service for residents, families, and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with resident trust accounts and maintain financial records.
• Process and maintain billing for Medi‑Cal Hospice and private‑pay residents.
• Apply for and assist with Medi‑Cal applications.
• Collect and post payments, verify insurance coverage, and answer billing questions.
• Prepare admissions and discharge paperwork, generate bank deposits, and reconcile accounts.
• Handle accounts receivable, follow up on outstanding balances, and support audits.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident financial and medical information (HIPAA compliance).
• Answer phones, greet visitors, and provide customer service.

Required profile

• Strong organizational and customer‑service skills.
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medi‑Cal, and insurance billing preferred.
• Experience with accounts receivable or healthcare billing.
• Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
