Business Development Representative

About the role

The Business Development Representative (BDR) serves as the primary liaison between Workforce Solutions East Texas and local employers. Working within the Business Services department, the BDR promotes workforce solutions, connects businesses with qualified talent, and supports regional economic development across the East Texas area.

Key responsibilities

• Outreach to businesses to market workforce services and recruit employer participation.
• Conduct cold calls, emails, site visits, and attend networking events to expand employer partnerships.
• Document outcomes such as job postings, hiring events, on‑the‑job training contracts, and incentive programs.
• Collaborate with Employment Services and RESEA staff to match qualified candidates with employer needs.
• Perform labor market research to identify high‑demand industries and emerging workforce needs.
• Plan and execute employer meetings, presentations, and hiring events (both in‑person and virtual).
• Maintain accurate records of employer contacts, services, and outcomes in designated systems.
