Business Development Manager – Power Transformers

About the role

As a Business Development Manager you will lead the commercial growth of a newly established Power Transformers Repair & Refurbishment business in the United States. You will be responsible for building the market presence from the ground up, developing a strong customer base and shaping long‑term success.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a business development strategy to expand the customer base for transformer repair and refurbishment services.
• Identify, qualify and pursue new opportunities across utilities, industrial customers and service providers.
• Build and maintain strong relationships, acting as a trusted advisor to key accounts.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations and Service teams to create competitive, feasible offerings.
• Lead pipeline development, ensuring visibility, prioritisation and conversion of opportunities.
• Analyse market trends, competitor positioning and customer needs to define growth strategies.
• Support pricing strategies and commercial negotiations to achieve sustainable margins.
• Coordinate hand‑over from sales to execution and represent the company at industry events.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration or a related field.
• Experience in business development or commercial sales within industrial services, energy or heavy‑equipment sectors.
• Hands‑on experience with high‑voltage power transformers or electrical equipment.
• Proven track record of originating and closing business opportunities.
• Strong understanding of commercial processes such as pipeline management, pricing and contract negotiations.
• Experience working in a matrix organisation and familiarity with CRM tools.
