Business Development Manager

About the role

The Business Development Manager for EPC will be the primary link between customers, market opportunities, and project delivery teams. Based in Houston, you will travel across the Gulf and the United States to build relationships with steel fabricators, owners, EPC firms, general contractors, and key industrial clients.

Key responsibilities

• Identify upcoming projects, bid opportunities, and develop long‑term partnerships within target accounts.
• Maintain a strong network of steel fabricators, owners, EPC firms, GCs, vendors, and industrial clients.
• Travel to customer meetings, job walks, bid reviews, conferences and networking events nationwide.
• Create and manage a focused sales plan, keep the CRM updated, and move the pipeline forward.
• Own annual sales targets, prioritize activities that deliver the highest return.
• Collaborate with estimating and operations to produce competitive, accurate proposals.
• Deliver PowerPoint presentations, capability statements, and pitch materials that showcase JT Thorpe’s value.
• Represent the brand at trade shows, conferences, and customer events.
• Provide weekly and monthly updates on sales activity, pipeline health, and market trends to senior leadership.

Required profile

• 5–7+ years of business development, sales, or account management experience in industrial construction or related sectors.
• Proven track record supporting estimating, proposal development, and large‑project pursuits.
• Strong communication, presentation, and relationship‑building abilities.
