Business Development Manager – Fireproofing

About the role

JT Thorpe Group is seeking a Business Development Manager to lead fireproofing sales across the Gulf and the United States. You will be the primary link between customers, market opportunities, and internal project teams, driving new work from identification through award.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and pursue upcoming fireproofing projects, building long‑term partnerships with steel fabricators, owners, EPC firms, GCs and industrial clients.
• Travel extensively to customer meetings, job walks, bid reviews, conferences and networking events.
• Develop and maintain a focused sales plan, manage the CRM and keep the pipeline active.
• Own annual sales targets, prioritize travel and entertainment for maximum ROI.
• Collaborate with estimating and operations to create accurate, competitive proposals.
• Prepare and deliver PowerPoint presentations, capability statements and pitch materials.
• Represent JT Thorpe at trade shows, conferences and customer events.
• Provide regular updates on sales activity, pipeline health and market trends to senior leadership.

Required profile

• 5‑7+ years of business development, sales or account management experience in industrial construction or related fields.
• Proven track record supporting estimating, proposal development and large‑project pursuits.
• Industry experience in fireproofing, refractory or insulation is a plus but not mandatory.
• Strong communication, presentation and relationship‑building abilities.
• Self‑motivated, driver mentality with a passion for meeting customers on the road.
