Business Development Manager – Charging Infrastructure

About the role

You will independently lead all phases of new site development for Tesla’s charging network across the Northeast and Midwest. The role focuses on identifying optimal locations, negotiating agreements, and ensuring smooth hand‑off to design and installation teams to deliver convenient charging stations for Tesla customers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage a pipeline of potential new charging sites that align with market goals.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners, including site hosts, utilities, and permitting authorities.
• Conduct site due‑diligence, feasibility studies, and support utility and permitting approvals.
• Collaborate with legal teams to draft, negotiate, and execute site host agreements.
• Work closely with design and installation teams to assess costs, timelines, and ensure efficient project hand‑off.
• Accurately forecast milestones and document progress throughout the development process.

Required profile

• Proven negotiator with experience in contracts, real‑estate, utility planning, and EV charging infrastructure.
• Highly organized, capable of managing 20+ projects simultaneously.
• Self‑motivated, autonomous, and able to drive results without close supervision.
• Strong business acumen to understand site host needs and align them with Tesla’s objectives.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with CEOs, facility managers, city planners, and utility representatives.
• Proactive risk‑management mindset to anticipate and mitigate project challenges.
