About the role

The Business Development – Client Executive will drive growth and deepen client relationships for a leading construction firm in Birmingham, AL. This high‑visibility position blends new‑business hunting with account‑management farming, supporting the company’s expansion across the Southeast.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic business development plans aligned with company growth objectives.
• Identify, pursue, and secure new project opportunities across targeted market sectors.
• Build and maintain relationships with owners, developers, architects, engineers, consultants, and key industry stakeholders.
• Manage and expand existing client accounts, ensuring exceptional service and long‑term partnership growth.
• Lead client engagement throughout the sales cycle, from opportunity identification through contract award.
• Collaborate with operations, pre‑construction, and executive leadership to craft winning pursuit strategies.
• Maintain a strong market presence through networking, industry events, and professional associations.
• Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and emerging regional opportunities.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to clients and strategic partners.

Required profile

• 10–15 years of progressive business development experience within the construction industry.
• Proven success generating new business and managing strategic client relationships.
• Extensive network of industry contacts and decision‑makers in commercial construction markets.
• Experience delivering projects such as data centers, healthcare facilities, and banking/financial institutions.
