Business Development & Chartering Manager

About the role

Patriot Maritime is seeking a Business Development & Chartering Manager to drive growth in both government and commercial maritime markets. The role combines strategic sales, bid management, and chartering oversight for the company’s shallow‑draft tankers and third‑party vessels.

Key responsibilities

• Support the President and executives with strategic planning, sales forecasting, and goal setting.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities across MSC, MARAD, USTRANSCOM, and commercial segments.
• Lead the full bid and proposal process, from opportunity identification to submission and client presentations.
• Manage charter parties, broker relationships, and voyage economics for Patriot’s own fleet.
• Oversee USC‑10 activities, including booking third‑party vessels, rate negotiations, CARE submissions, and coordination with brokers.
• Utilize AI tools to accelerate research, data analysis, and reporting.
• Collaborate with finance on budgeting, forecasting, and business‑process improvements.

Required profile

• Proven experience in maritime business development, government contracting, or commercial chartering.
• Strong analytical abilities with a data‑driven mindset.
• Excellent communication skills for internal leadership and external stakeholder engagement.
• Comfortable working in a hybrid environment and leveraging AI‑enabled workflows.
