Business Analytics Intern – Spring/Summer 2027

About the role

The Business Analytics Internship at the Allegheny County Department of Human Services offers students the chance to apply data‑driven skills to real‑world challenges that affect individuals, families, and communities across Allegheny County. You will support the aging services business unit, helping improve service delivery, inform decision‑making, and evaluate program performance.

Key responsibilities

• Assist business unit functions such as billing support, report generation, and data monitoring.
• Develop and maintain dashboards using Tableau or Power BI.
• Participate in fee‑for‑service program evaluations and process‑optimization projects.
• Support the initial development and stabilization of the aging services analytics team.
• Help address project backlogs by contributing to critical analytics tasks.

Required profile

• Enrolled in an accredited U.S. college or university (undergraduate or graduate).
• Available to work 20‑29 hours per week from January to Summer 2027.
• Able to work on‑site at the Pittsburgh office and maintain a Allegheny County address during the internship.
• International candidates must satisfy federal I‑9 employment eligibility.
• Business‑related majors preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with Tableau or Power BI (highly preferred).
• Experience or training in SQL or other programming languages.
