Building Maintenance Worker – Multiple Openings

About the role

The Building Maintenance Worker provides essential upkeep of Georgetown University’s campus facilities. This full‑time, on‑site position ensures that building structures, systems and equipment remain safe, functional, and well‑maintained.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine and semi‑skilled preventative maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and building structures.
• Execute minor repairs and respond to service calls from building users.
• Conduct scheduled inspections and address unscheduled or special work requests.
• Utilize standard trade tools, materials, and supplies while adhering to safety regulations.
• Collaborate with zone managers, central shop supervisors, and other trade staff.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least two years of general building maintenance experience covering electrical, plumbing, carpentry/lock, and basic HVAC tasks.
• Completion of a training program that includes basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, lock, and HVAC maintenance.
• Valid driver’s license from Maryland, Virginia, or the District of Columbia.
