Box Truck Driver

About the role

The Box Truck Driver safely operates a box truck on local and regional routes, delivering goods to customers, businesses, and designated sites. The role includes loading, unloading, and providing professional customer service, ranging from simple drop‑off to white‑glove delivery with assembly.

Key responsibilities

• Operate a box truck safely on assigned routes while complying with traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company policies.
• Load, unload, and secure cargo to prevent shifting, loss, or damage during transit.
• Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety issues.
• Complete and maintain accurate delivery documentation, receipts, and inspection records.
• Communicate professionally with customers, dispatchers, warehouse staff, and management regarding deliveries, delays, or vehicle concerns.
• Verify orders, freight condition, and delivery quantities before finalizing each delivery.
• Maintain a clean, organized vehicle and work area, and assist with warehouse or material‑handling duties as needed.

Required profile

• Valid driver's license (REAL ID) with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to read maps, use navigation tools, and maintain geographic awareness.
• Physical ability to lift and move items up to 75 lb unassisted and perform frequent vehicle entry/exit, bending, stooping, and climbing.
• Strong attention to detail, safe work practices, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• English reading, writing, and speaking proficiency.
• Eligibility to pass federal background checks for access to military and government facilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with navigation tools and map reading.
