Board‑Certified Pathologist – Full‑time in East Texas

About the role

PathGroup is hiring a board‑certified or board‑eligible AP/CP Pathologist to join a growing team serving a regional academic health system in East Texas. The position is full‑time and based in Tyler, offering a diverse mix of general surgical and cytopathology cases with opportunities for academic, quality‑improvement and research activities.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret a broad spectrum of surgical pathology specimens, including complex oncologic resections.
• Perform and supervise frozen sections, averaging two per day, with increasing use of digital technology.
• Provide weekday and weekend call coverage, primarily phone consults and specimen handling.
• Collaborate with subspecialty experts, a nearby hematology fellowship program, and the regional public health laboratory.
• Participate in research, quality‑improvement projects and teaching initiatives as new medical programs expand.

Required profile

• AP/CP board‑certified or board‑eligible Pathologist.
• Interest or experience in hematopathology, lymph node evaluation, or molecular pathology.
• Willingness to engage in call rotation and collaborative team environment.

Required skills

• Surgical pathology interpretation.
• Cytopathology interpretation.
• Frozen section analysis.
• Hematopathology and molecular pathology techniques.
• Digital pathology platforms (e.g., Grundium).
• Experience with pulmonary pathology, including EBUS and robotic bronchoscopy specimens.
