About the role

Tarleton State University seeks a Tarleton Today Instructor in Biology to join the Department of Biological Sciences. This 10‑month, non‑tenure‑track faculty position offers the chance to teach undergraduate biology courses on campus and online, contributing to a vibrant academic community.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate biology lectures, labs, and discussion sections.
• Develop and update course materials, including online content.
• Assess student performance and provide timely feedback.
• Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum planning, and service activities.
• Optionally supervise a 2‑month summer appointment (50% effort) if needed.

Required profile

• Terminal degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in Biology or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated experience teaching at the college level, preferably in both face‑to‑face and online formats.
• Commitment to inclusive teaching practices and student success.
• Ability to work full‑time from August 1 to May 31, with flexible hours as teaching demands dictate.
