Bilingual Care Coordinator (Illinois Insurance & SimplePractice)

About the role

A client of SnappyCX is looking for an experienced bilingual Care Coordinator to support patient care, scheduling, insurance coordination and follow-up. The role is fully remote and based in the Central Time zone; it starts part-time with a strong intention to move to full-time depending on performance and operational needs. The client works in behavioral health and focuses on patient-centered care.

Key responsibilities

• Answer inbound and outbound patient calls professionally
• Schedule and coordinate patient appointments and follow-up visits
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits
• Assist with prior authorizations and referral coordination
• Follow up with patients on appointments, treatment plans and outstanding requirements
• Communicate with insurance companies about eligibility, coverage and authorizations
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in the EMR
• Coordinate communication between providers, patients and external healthcare partners
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
• Deliver excellent customer service and support patient retention

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in care coordination, patient services, medical scheduling, insurance verification or a related healthcare administrative role
• Previous experience with Illinois-based insurance plans
• Excellent verbal and written English with a professional phone presence
• Strong understanding of healthcare workflows and patient coordination processes
• Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced healthcare environment
• HIPAA compliance certificate required

Required skills

• Experience with SimplePractice EHR (non-negotiable)
• Preferred: familiarity with referrals and prior authorizations, and knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, PPO, HMO and commercial plans
• Preferred: experience in urgent care, primary care or multi-specialty practices
