Behavior Support Educator

About the role

Join Apollo After School as a Behavior Support Educator to provide individualized support for school‑age children, including neurodivergent students, in an inclusive after‑school program.

Key responsibilities

• Provide individualized behavioral, emotional, social, sensory, and developmental support to children.
• Help children navigate transitions, group activities, and peer interactions.
• Recognize and proactively respond to signs of sensory overload, frustration, anxiety, or escalating behavior.
• Use positive behavior‑support strategies such as co‑regulation, visual supports, and redirection.
• Assist children in building self‑regulation, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
• Maintain a safe, predictable, and inclusive environment and adapt activities as needed.
• Collaborate with the Site Director, educators, school personnel, and leadership, and communicate observations and concerns.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of experience working with school‑age children, preferably neurodivergent.
• Experience or certification in special education, behavioral support, ABA, or related fields.
• Familiarity with positive behavior support, de‑escalation, visual schedules, and sensory supports.
• Calm, patient, and supportive demeanor with strong observation and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to build trusting relationships while maintaining clear boundaries.
