Basic X-Ray Machine Operator

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a Basic Machine Operator in Winter Park, Florida, on a full-time day shift. The role prepares patients for radiologic procedures, operates x-ray equipment and keeps the x-ray room and darkroom safe and clean. Up to a $10,000 sign-on bonus is available.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare patients for radiologic procedures and protect them, themselves and colleagues from radiation hazards
• Take x-rays following established procedures, set up and operate radiographic equipment and implement infection control measures
• Select proper ionizing factors, adjust radiographic controls and position patients as requested by the physician
• Process film, check images for clarity and retake when needed, keeping film files neat and reports available for physicians
• Maintain patient records, daily logbooks and monthly reports, and perform quantity and quality control checks
• Keep the darkroom and x-ray room clean, stock supplies, rotate film stock and verify charges on charge slips
• Ensure equipment meets state regulations and report malfunctions to the supervisor
• Float to other FHMG practices when patient load or schedules require it

Required profile

• High school graduate or equivalent (associate degree preferred)
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English effectively
• Willingness to float between practices
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification and Basic X-Ray Machine Operator (BMO) certification required
• 1+ years of basic x-ray operator experience preferred
