Baseball Instructor – MLB Youth Academy

About the role

The Baseball Instructor supports the MLB Youth Academy by delivering high‑quality baseball instruction across workouts, camps, clinics, and gameplay. Working closely with the Coordinator of Baseball Instruction, you will help shape the development of young athletes and ensure smooth operation of all baseball‑related activities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning and implementing baseball instruction, including workouts, camps, clinics, and gameplay.
• Support the Coordinator in selecting players for travel teams, showcases, and camps.
• Coordinate schedules and logistics for all baseball activities, workouts, and special events.
• Coach Academy baseball teams during workouts and games as needed.
• Prepare and submit reports to the Coordinator as required.
• Perform tasks for special programs and events directed by the Coordinator or Academy Director.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience as a player, coach, or instructor in baseball.
• Strong organizational, scheduling, and communication abilities.
• Team‑oriented mindset with the ability to take direction.
• Willingness to travel locally (≈25% overnight) for All‑Star and Spring Break events.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with computer scheduling programs.
