Barrel Cellar Operator II (Day/Night Shifts)

About the role

Ste. Michelle Wine Estates is seeking a Barrel Cellar Operator II to join its Columbia Crest Winery in Paterson, WA. The role supports both day and night shift teams, handling wine fermentation, equipment setup, and cellar maintenance in a fast‑paced production environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist operators with equipment setup, monitor wine fermentation, and pump product to tanks and barrels.
• Perform chemical additions, sanitizations, and maintain the wine tracking system through work orders.
• Operate forklift and scissor lift for material movement and harvest assignments, including shoveling pomace and supporting crush pad operations.
• Conduct inventory checks, report shortages, and assist with month‑end inventory.
• Support shipping and receiving of wine and juice, and maintain a clean, safe work area.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED; must be at least 21 years old.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb, bend, squat, stand for long periods and work in varying temperatures.
• One year of experience in wine processing or a related field preferred.
• Willingness to work extended hours, including night shifts and harvest periods.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Required skills

• Forklift operation (certified or able to be certified).
• Scissor lift operation.
• Operation of light mechanical equipment.
