Barbering Instructor (Part‑time)

About the role

Columbus Technical College is seeking a part‑time Barbering Instructor to join its Barbering Department. The role involves delivering classroom and hands‑on lab instruction in haircutting, styling, skin, scalp, facial, and shaving techniques while supporting student success.

Key responsibilities

• Teach all areas of barbering, including practical lab sessions.
• Develop lesson plans and course outlines that meet state standards.
• Evaluate student progress and provide feedback on goals and objectives.
• Maintain supplies, tools, and equipment for training areas.
• Ensure safety and security compliance in all instructional settings.
• Participate in staff development, workshops, and professional conferences.
• Assist with recruitment, retention, and job placement initiatives.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• State of Georgia Master Barbering License.
• At least three years of recent barbering or barber‑instructor experience.
• Completion of a teaching preparation program at an accredited post‑secondary institution.
• Strong time‑management, communication, and observation skills.
