Band & Strings Teacher (Grades 2-6)

About the role

The Washington Elementary School District is seeking a dedicated Band & Strings Teacher for grades 2‑6. This full‑time position reports to the school principal and begins immediately. The teacher will create a dynamic, technology‑enhanced classroom that fosters musical growth and personal development.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver district‑approved curriculum aligned with Arizona State standards for band and strings.
• Design and implement lesson plans, including individualized and small‑group instruction.
• Assess student progress, maintain records, and prepare progress reports.
• Communicate regularly with parents through newsletters, notes, phone calls, and conferences.
• Establish and enforce classroom management procedures to ensure a safe, engaging learning environment.
• Coordinate teacher aides, volunteers, and field‑trip activities.
• Integrate technology into lessons and create attractive learning displays.
• Promote student achievements and maintain high ethical standards.

Required profile

• Valid Arizona Department of Education teaching certification for the appropriate grade level.
• Arizona Department of Public Safety Identified Verified Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Ability to develop lesson plans, assess student learning, and communicate effectively with families.
