Backend Software Engineer – Typescript, SvelteKit, NestJS

About the role

Yuzu is building the core infrastructure for next‑generation health insurance. As a Backend Software Engineer you will write TypeScript code using modern frameworks such as SvelteKit and NestJS, and design data structures that address the complexities of healthcare administration.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the backend of Yuzu’s platform in TypeScript.
• Design robust data models for health‑plan and claims processing.
• Contribute across the entire codebase as an early employee.
• Help shape company culture and engineering practices.
• Collaborate with product teams to drive feature direction.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering successful software projects, preferably in small teams or early‑stage startups.
• Self‑directed, curious, and able to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong communication skills.
• Willingness to work onsite five days a week at the Flatiron office.
