Backend Software Engineer

About the role

Collate is building an AI‑powered document generation platform for life‑science companies. As a Backend Software Engineer you will create and scale the core services that enable the platform to move from prototype to production‑grade deployment, directly supporting faster delivery of medical innovations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain high‑performance backend services and APIs using Go.
• Develop data pipelines and integrate with PostgreSQL, Kafka, S3 and OpenSearch.
• Ensure reliability, security and scalability of the platform on AWS with Kubernetes orchestration.
• Collaborate with product, design and machine‑learning teams to turn requirements into production‑ready features.
• Build internal tooling and automate infrastructure with Terraform and Argo CD to boost engineering productivity.

Required profile

• Proven experience building and scaling backend systems in a production environment.
• Strong focus on reliability, performance and long‑term maintainability.
• Comfort working in a fast‑moving early‑stage startup where ownership is high.
• Collaborative mindset and willingness to learn across the stack.
