Azure Senior FinOps Engineer

About the role

LSEG (London Stock Exchange Group) is looking for an Azure Senior FinOps Engineer in St. Louis who combines financial operations expertise with deep technical knowledge of Microsoft Azure. The role helps organisations manage, optimise and govern cloud spending, supporting application teams through the application lifecycle, Finance & Procurement teams with complex billing data, and Architecture & Design teams with cloud best practice.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse cost trends and anomalies, identify areas for improvement and support decisions with data-driven insights.
• Select the right Azure services for each environment to avoid overspending.
• Establish and track KPIs for Azure cloud financial performance.
• Work with platform teams to configure Cost Management tooling correctly and build dashboards for root cause analysis.
• Automate Cost Management tooling via APIs and set up daily, weekly and nightly pipelines for updates and reports.
• Enforce tagging standards and implement new guidelines.
• Collaborate with application teams to optimise performance and costs, and advise customers on the latest services.
• Translate business requirements into PoCs and demos, and present findings clearly.

Required profile

• At least 3-5 years of experience with Azure Cloud Services and cost optimisation such as rightsizing and modernisation.
• 5+ years of experience in a large-scale organisation in a similar role.
• Experience evaluating existing infrastructure and improving costs without reducing performance.
• Excellent debugging skills, proactive attitude and strong presentation skills.
• Fluent English, spoken and written.
• Nice to have: familiarity with the FinOps Foundation framework, a degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering, and knowledge of RBAC and least privilege access.
