Autonomous Vehicle Operator – PM Shift (12‑Month Temp)

About the role

Nuro is seeking Autonomous Vehicle Operators to run its Level‑4 self‑driving test fleet in Los Angeles. This is a 12‑month, full‑time position on the PM shift, offering full benefits and hands‑on experience with cutting‑edge autonomous technology.

Key responsibilities

• Operate autonomous test vehicles in both manual and autonomous modes for up to 8 hours daily, following safety and operational procedures.
• Use Nuro’s proprietary software to collect real‑world data and provide detailed feedback to engineering teams.
• Troubleshoot operational issues in real time and coordinate with the Mission Operations (dispatch) team to meet mileage targets.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections before and after missions, including basic maintenance tasks such as washing and tire inflation.
• Engage with the public to explain autonomous vehicle technology and occasionally serve as a company ambassador for high‑profile ride‑alongs.

Required profile

• Professionalism, care, and personal accountability with a strong safety mindset.
• Ability to pass multiple training checkpoints both inside and outside the vehicle.
• Comfortable working varied traffic conditions and adapting to changing operational demands.
