Automotive Technician - Mechanic

About the role

Monro, a family of automotive service and tire dealer brands, is hiring a General Service Technician (Mechanic) in its District 200 area. The role is full-time or part-time and is an hourly position based on business needs. The technician performs basic routine vehicle repair and maintenance according to company standards and manufacturer specifications, delivering 5-star guest service through clear communication of vehicle issues and proposed solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Perform basic vehicle services and repairs accurately and efficiently, including tire services such as wheel removal, balancing, patch/plug repairs, mounting, installation and TPMS service.
• Perform lubrication, oil changes, basic maintenance (bulb, wiper blade and filter replacements), battery testing and installation.
• Complete the Courtesy Inspection on every guest vehicle, documenting and communicating additional needed services.
• Assist with inventory management, including pulling tires and parts and stocking shelves.
• Help keep the store clean and guest-ready, and follow safety standards such as wheel torque and oil safety procedures.
• Test drive vehicles under the Road Test policy and follow company policies, environmental codes and OSHA standards.
• Complete Monro University training and maintain equipment safely.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Automotive training in basic car maintenance and repair, or equivalent education and experience.
• Current valid driver's license, a satisfactory motor vehicle report, and the ability to operate customers' vehicles for test drives.
• Owns a basic set of tools or joins Monro's tool purchase program.
• Ability to work flexible hours, days, evenings, weekends and holidays, and to lift up to 50 lbs.
