Automotive Technician / Mechanic

About the role

Monro, a family of automotive service and tire dealer brands, is hiring a Technician in its Agoura Hills location. The role is full-time or part-time and is an hourly position depending on business needs. The Technician performs basic vehicle diagnostics and routine repair and maintenance according to company standards and manufacturer specifications, delivering 5-star guest service through clear communication of issues and solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Perform basic vehicle diagnostics to identify required repairs
• Complete the Courtesy Inspection on every guest vehicle, document and communicate additional services and repairs, and audit courtesy inspections done by General Service Technicians
• Assist with inventory management, including pulling tires and parts and stocking inventory
• Help with general store duties so the store stays clean and guest-ready
• Perform services safely, including wheel torque and oil safety procedures, and test drive vehicles under the Road Test policy
• Follow company policies, environmental codes and OSHA standards, and complete Monro University training
• Operate and maintain equipment such as lifts, welders and brake lathes safely

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Automotive training, basic car maintenance and repair, or an equivalent mix of education and experience
• ASE certification and State Inspection license preferred
• Current valid driver's license and a satisfactory motor vehicle report
• Owns a basic set of tools or joins the tool purchase program
• Ability to work flexible hours, days, evenings, weekends and holidays, and to lift up to 50 lbs
