Automotive Technician (Brakes and Alignment)

About the role

Monro, a family of automotive service and tire dealer brands, is hiring a full-time Automotive Technician (Brakes and Alignment) in Greenwood. The technician performs basic vehicle diagnostics and routine repair and maintenance according to company standards and manufacturer specifications, delivers 5-star guest service through clear communication of issues and solutions, and meets guest expectations for time and quality. Pay is $16-$18 guarantee and $21-$32 flat rate depending on experience.

Key responsibilities

• Perform basic vehicle diagnostics to identify required repairs
• Complete the Courtesy Inspection on every guest vehicle, document and communicate additional services, and audit courtesy inspections by General Service Technicians
• Assist with inventory management, including pulling tires and parts and stocking inventory
• Help keep the store clean and guest-ready, and follow safety standards such as wheel torque and oil safety procedures
• Test drive vehicles using the company's road test policy and routes
• Follow company policies, environmental codes and OSHA standards, and complete Monro University training
• Operate and maintain equipment safely, including lifts, welders and brake lathes

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Automotive training in basic maintenance and repair, or equivalent education and experience
• ASE certification and state inspection license preferred
• Valid driver's license and a satisfactory motor vehicle report, with the ability to test drive customers' vehicles
• Owns a basic set of tools or joins the tool purchase program
• Able to work flexible hours, days, evenings, weekends and holidays, and to lift up to 50 lbs
