Automation Test Engineer – Hybrid (Ashburn, VA)

About the role

We are looking for an Automation Test Engineer to join our team supporting a federal client. In this hybrid position you will design, implement and execute comprehensive testing protocols to ensure system compliance and high‑quality software delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and execute testing protocols to validate system and application requirements.
• Develop, maintain and enhance automated testing scripts and frameworks.
• Conduct regression, smoke and integration testing for IT applications.
• Evaluate test cases, document results and provide regular progress updates to stakeholders.
• Support user requirements for complex software and hardware applications.
• Participate in risk‑management assessments and all phases of the development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with development teams to identify, isolate and resolve software defects.
• Ensure adherence to Agile and QA methodologies throughout the development cycle.

Required profile

• Strong experience with automated testing frameworks and Java development.
• Proficiency in Agile methodologies and ability to work in cross‑functional teams.
• Willingness to work onsite at the client location in Ashburn, VA up to four days per week.
