Automation Engineer – Greenville, OH

About the role

Surventis is looking for an Automation Engineer to join its Greenville, OH site. You will be responsible for programming, maintaining, and improving the plant’s control systems while ensuring safety and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain DCS control logic, graphics, and batch programs.
• Lead life‑cycle planning and training for site control systems.
• Collaborate with Operations to modify programs, de‑bottleneck equipment and boost plant performance.
• Conduct annual functional certification of automated interlock systems.
• Support project engineers during commissioning of automation‑related capital projects.
• Maintain data historians and document all plant changes as part of PSM Management of Change.
• Provide technical support for risk assessments and ensure changes do not compromise safety.

Required profile

• Proven experience in industrial control system programming and plant automation.
• Strong understanding of safety instrumented systems (SIS) and PSM requirements.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex automation issues and improve process quality.

Required skills

• DCS programming (logic, graphics, batch).
• Data historian configuration and maintenance.
• Safety Instrumented System (SIS) knowledge or certification.
• PSM Management of Change documentation.
• Risk assessment support for automation changes.
