About the role
The Office of Audits (JA) within the GSA Office of Inspector General seeks an Auditor to support performance, programmatic, and financial audits of federal operations. The role contributes to improving GSA’s efficiency while safeguarding the integrity of its activities.
Key responsibilities
- Assist senior auditors in identifying high‑risk areas and conducting performance audits.
- Support contractor oversight for financial‑statement audits in line with applicable standards.
- Collect and compile audit evidence through interviews, record reviews, and data analysis.
- Analyze agency policies and programs to develop audit findings.
- Review and evaluate financial records, applying established criteria to detect inconsistencies, anomalies, or exceptions.
Required profile
- U.S. citizenship or national status.
- Eligibility to register with the Selective Service (for males born after 12/31/1959).
- Ability to meet time‑in‑grade requirements where applicable.
- Willingness to undergo a Tier 3 background investigation and e‑Verify verification.
- Compliance with OPM authorization requirements for former political appointees.
