Auditor – Financial, Compliance & Operational Audits

About the role

The Auditor will conduct financial, compliance, and operational audits for county agencies, departments, and programs. Working under the supervision of an Audit Supervisor and the Director of County Audit, the role ensures accountability and improvement of internal controls.

Key responsibilities

• Perform assigned financial, compliance, and operational audit procedures.
• Evaluate internal control systems in detail.
• Prepare working papers and draft reports with findings and recommendations.
• Interview departmental personnel to gather audit information.
• Complete additional duties as assigned by supervisory staff.

Required profile

• At least one year of experience in accounting or auditing.
• Licensed Florida Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Internal Auditor designation.
• Ability to work flexible hours based on departmental needs.
• Familiarity with financial documents and their applications.
• Adaptability to changes in procedures, practices, or assignments.
• Sound judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions.

• Competitive salary range from $66,830 to $103,251, commensurate with experience.
